Ingredients (for 1 medium pizza)

For the base

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ¾ cup warm water

 

For the sauce:

  • ½ cup tomato puree (or blended fresh tomato)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp basil (fresh or dried)
  • Pinch of salt & sugar

 

For the topping:

  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • ½ cup green capsicum (bell pepper), thinly sliced rings/strips
  • 2 tbsp parmesan (optional)
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

 

Directions

Make the dough

  • Mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
  • Add warm water slowly, knead to smooth dough. Add olive oil, knead again.
  • Cover and let it rise 1–2 hours until doubled.
  • Prepare sauce
  • Sauté garlic in olive oil.
  • Add tomato puree, oregano, basil, salt, and sugar. Cook until thickened.
  • Shape the base
  • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
  • Roll dough into medium-thin pizza round. Place on tray/stone.
  • Assemble pizza
  • Spread sauce over base.
  • Add mozzarella evenly.
  • Arrange sliced capsicum over cheese.
  • Sprinkle parmesan (optional).

 

Bake

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese melts and edges are golden.

Serve

  • Garnish with fresh basil.
